Traffic arrangement changes at Hipodroomi intersection from 25 June
From 25 June, a 2+1 traffic arrangement will be implemented on Paldi Road in the section from Mets Street to Merelahe Road in connection with the reconstruction of Hipodroomi intersection. There are two traffic lanes on the city-inbound direction and one lane on the city-outbound direction. The changes remain in effect until the end of August.
EstoniaThe next phase of reconstruction work at Hipodroomi intersection in Tallinn will bring new traffic restrictions: from 25 June 2026, a 2+1 traffic arrangement will be in effect on Paldi Road in the section from Mets Street to Merelahe Road until the end of August.
According to the new arrangement, Paldi Road will have two traffic lanes in the city-inbound direction and one traffic lane in the city-outbound direction. The intersection itself will remain open to traffic, but road users must account for the changed conditions and possible additional travel time.
Recommended alternative routes
Motorists from Keila travelling via Paldi Road are advised to consider an alternative route via Pärnu Road and, where possible, prefer public transport, there is a fast and convenient rail connection from Keila. Travellers from Tabasalu and Harku heading to the city centre are advised to take the route via Mustamäe.
The public transport lane will be reserved exclusively for public vehicles throughout the construction period to ensure smooth movement of buses and trolleybuses. Access to enterprises in the area will be maintained throughout the construction period.
Work to be completed in 2027
The purpose of the Hipodroomi intersection reconstruction is to connect the new Hipodroomi residential and business district with the rest of the city and transform the section of Paldi Road between Endla and Mets Street into a safer and more modern urban space for all road users. The entire construction project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2027.
