Tramway track replacement completed on Tartu Road in Tallinn
Tramway track replacement work has been completed on Tartu Road at the Lubja Street intersection in Tallinn. From 22 June, normal traffic arrangements will be restored and trams will resume service in both directions. The project cost exceeded half a million euros.
EstoniaTramway track replacement work has been completed on Tartu Road at the Lubja Street intersection in Tallinn. From 22 June 2026, the turn from Tartu Road to Lubja Street will reopen and trams will resume service on separate tracks in both directions on the Lubja Street turn.
Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) director Kaido Padar announced that all necessary work has been completed successfully. "By now, all necessary work is done and the upgraded section ensures more reliable tramway operation," he said.
During the work, approximately 150 metres of worn track was replaced. The reconstruction was carried out as part of TLT's electric transport infrastructure upgrade plan and the total project cost was over half a million euros.
With the completion of the work, normal tram schedules will also be restored. Passengers are advised to check departure times before travelling.
