TV personality Kethi Uibomägi buys a farm on Saaremaa

TV personality Kethi Uibomägi (37) announced on social media that she has purchased a farm on Saaremaa, just a few kilometres from Kuressaare. Although the woman moved to Greece last year with her husband and daughter, she wants to maintain her ties to Estonia and pass on her family roots to her daughter.

TV personality Kethi Uibomägi (37) surprised her followers with news that she has acquired a farm on Saaremaa. This is particularly noteworthy since the woman only moved to Greece last year with her husband and two-year-old daughter Freya.

The farm is located a few kilometres from Kuressaare, nestled in its own forest and has long been owned by her husband's family. "This is my late mother-in-law and father-in-law's house and has been the family farm for a long time. Last summer I lived and worked there, growing plants in the greenhouse. Now it has been officially registered as our home," explained Uibomägi.

Kethi describes the farm's condition with praise: the building is well insulated, equipped with ground source heating, and habitable year-round. The yard features both a smoke sauna and outbuildings. "I'd just like to do a bit of renovating there," she added.

Future plans also include offering accommodation services. "When we're not there ourselves, I'd like to offer accommodation. It would be especially nice for families," Kethi said. The scenic location offers genuine peace and quiet, and deer even roam through the yard.

Saaremaa is close to Kethi's heart mainly because of her husband. "I'm connected to Saaremaa through my husband, who is a true islander through and through. I like the idea that I can pass on his roots to my child, as a kind of tribute to Freya's grandparents, whom she will never be able to meet," she said.

This does not, however, mean abandoning Greece. According to Kethi, the choice of where to live depends on the season: when Estonia turns dark in November and the virus season arrives, they are in Greece; otherwise they try to divide their life between Estonia and Greece.
