Vet warns: a 2-minute routine could save your cat's life
Cats are known for their ability to hide illness and pain until the last moment, making early detection of health problems difficult for their owners. Veterinarian Dr Alex Crow warns on social media that most cat owners neglect a daily check routine that could be life-threatening for their pets.
CultureCats are the animal kingdom's greatest stoics, often hiding illness and pain until their condition becomes critical. Unlike dogs, cats tend not to show their suffering, making it extremely difficult for owners to spot health problems early.
Veterinarian Dr Alex Crow has begun warning cat owners on social media about the importance of a simple daily check routine that most people overlook. According to him, just a two-minute examination can make the difference between timely treatment and a disease discovered too late.
Cats have evolved a behaviour to hide weakness, as in the wild a sick animal becomes easy prey. This instinct persists in domestic cats, and this makes early intervention particularly important in veterinary medicine. Regular manual examination helps detect changes in skin, coat, mucous membranes and lymph nodes before a cat shows visible symptoms.
