Vingegaard wins stage 16 of Giro d'Italia in Cari with solo finish

Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard claimed victory on stage 16 of the Giro d'Italia, riding solo to the finish in Cari. It was his fourth stage win at this year's race. Estonian rider Madis Mihkels crossed the line in 110th place.

Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma | Lease a Bike crossed the finish line alone in Cari to win stage 16 of the Giro d'Italia on Tuesday, completing the 113-kilometre route from Bellinzona in commanding fashion. The Danish rider, already wearing the leader's jersey, delivered a dominant performance that underlined his status as the race's standout competitor.

The stage win was Vingegaard's fourth at this year's Giro d'Italia, further cementing his grip on the overall classification. Arriving solo at the summit finish, the Dane left his rivals well behind and sent a clear message to the rest of the peloton.

Estonian rider Madis Mihkels of EF Education - EasyPost also completed the stage, finishing in 110th place. The Giro d'Italia continues with further mountain stages ahead as the race moves toward its conclusion.
