Vladimir Vassiljev named head coach of Latvian top-flight club FK Liepāja

Vladimir Vassiljev, who was dismissed from Paide Linnameeskond at the end of April, has found new employment — he will become the head coach of Latvian top-flight club FK Liepāja. FK Liepāja finished the previous season in third place in the Latvian top division.

Well-known Estonian football coach Vladimir Vassiljev has found a new challenge in Latvia. Vassiljev, who was dismissed from his position as head coach of Paide Linnameeskond at the end of April, has been appointed as the new head coach of Latvian top-flight club FK Liepāja.

FK Liepāja is one of the most recognised football clubs in Latvia, finishing the previous season in third place in the Latvian top division and earning a bronze medal. Vassiljev will continue to oversee the club's development and strive for even higher ambitions.

Vassiljev left Paide Linnameeskond at the end of April when the club decided to terminate his contract ahead of schedule. Now the Latvian top division opens a new chapter in his coaching career.
