Federal U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper issued a decision against renaming the famous Kennedy Center in Washington. The court ruled that assigning the institution the name "Trump-Kennedy Center" violates the law.

According to the judge, the cultural center is legally required to be dedicated to "President Kennedy and only President Kennedy." This was reported by Politico on May 29.

Earlier, the Donald Trump administration initiated the renaming of one of the most well-known cultural institutions of the American capital by adding the name of the sitting president to its historic designation. This decision provoked widespread criticism and was ultimately challenged in court.
