Weekend brings rainy weather to Estonia with clouds and showers

Saturday will see increasing cloud cover and rain spreading across Estonia, with possible thunderstorms in the evening. Sunday will bring cold, showery weather to the Baltic Sea region.

Saturday night, the high-pressure ridge over the Baltic states will move south, allowing westerly and easterly low-pressure systems to become more influential. Cloud cover will increase and night will be rainy in eastern Estonia.

During the day, an easterly low-pressure system will move from beyond Lake Peipsi towards the St. Petersburg area, and precipitation will spread to more western parts of Estonia. Saturday evening, thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.

Sunday, a northeastern low-pressure system will move over southern Finland into the Gulf of Bothnia, while another low-pressure centre approaches from Scandinavia to the Baltic Sea. Heavier precipitation will concentrate over Sweden, but showers will also occur elsewhere in the Baltic Sea region. The air mass will remain cold both days.
