You can buy a house in Ida-Virumaa for less than €10,000

Estonia's cheapest property offers are located in Ida-Virumaa, where several properties are being sold for under €10,000-less than the price of a new mid-range car. Affordable deals can also be found in Pärnu County, Jõgeva County and Viljandi County.

Ida-Virumaa

Estonia's property market has places where buying a house costs less than purchasing a new car, and the incredibly cheap offers are concentrated in Ida-Virumaa.

Ida-Virumaa is Estonia's cheapest region

A house in Tühamäe horticultural association in Jõhvi parish is on sale for just €7,000. In Jõhvi town, on Rohuaia lane, €9,000 is being asked, and in Vaivara village, which falls under Narva-Jõesuu town, €9,900. For comparison: a new Škoda Octavia starts at approximately €30,000-meaning a property with a house in Jõhvi can be obtained for less than one third of that price.

Slightly higher but still significantly cheaper than a car are offers in Saka village (€15,000), Narva town on Aniliini street (€16,000) and Ongassaare village in Alutaguse parish (€17,000).

Pärnu surprise: affordable properties in the summer capital's county

Unexpectedly, many affordable offers can be found in Pärnu County, a region more commonly associated with expensive coastal properties and summer residents. In Penu village in Häädemeeste parish and even in Pärnu town in Rääma, prices start from €9,900. In Kilingi-Nõmme, houses are available for €13,600 and €18,900, in Kirbla village in Lääneranna parish for €17,500, and in Jäärja village in Saarde parish for €19,000. Even in Pärnu town's Eeslinn district (€21,900) and Audru town (€23,000), prices remain below those of a new car.

Central and South Estonia also offer options

In Jõgeva County, Pilu village in Põltsamaa parish stands out as remarkably cheap, with a house priced at €9,900. In Kääpa village in Mustvee parish, €14,000 is being asked, and in Kõnnu village in Jõgeva parish there are even two offers at €17,500. Special mention deserves Pikevere village's transportable insulated garden house, with an asking price of just €1,000.

In Viljandi County, a home can be found starting from €14,990-at this price, houses are available in both Kahala village in Türi parish and Võhma town. In Viljandi parish, houses in Tänassilma and Kaavere villages fall in the €19,000-€19,500 range, and in Karksi village in Mulgi parish, €25,000 is being asked, which is still below the average price of a new car.
